Neighbourhood:
Sunnylea
This little neighbourhood is near and dear to my heart as it is the place that I call home. Although I am admittedly biased, I would like to share the reason why my wife and I chose this neighbourhood – and believe me, there are many of them!
Although I have lived in Etobicoke for 6 years, we always found ourselves in and around the Sunnylea area. For one, it is within walking distance to Royal York & Bloor Street where some of our favourite restaurants are located. It is also a short drive from The Queensway where there are some classic spots like Mamma Martino’s and Tom’s Dairy Freeze.
The biggest thing is the ability to upsize, which a lot of Torontonians struggle with today. It’s not a secret that free home prices are higher than ever but in neighbourhoods like Sunnylea and Long Branch, to name a couple, there are many wartime homes that, although on the smaller side, offer a great entryway into freehold homeownership.
Another great feature is schools like Norseman and Bishop Allen Academy. Two amazing schools in close proximity to each other make this area perfect for families!
